Can't get new blank cd to work on cd drive

Hi! I am trying to save some of my homework on new blank cd, but it said that insert cd and if I put other cd in, it works.

I remember that I had to do something to a disk to clean it on the computer. See my cd said full free space and full used space. It is brand new. I just couldn't remember how to do something to it on the computer! Any helps would be great!!! Thanks!!

have you tried using another blank cd? What brand of bland media do you have?
