Just recently, both of my disc-readers (DVD and CD-RW) stopped working. When I go to My Computer, they are not listed in the removable drives section. I have checked the device manager and it does recognize their presence, but next to both icons is the yellow exclamation mark. I checked the properties and it says

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

I have tried unplugging and replugging them as well as switching IDE cables. I'm very sure that it's not a problem with the hardware, it's the driver on my computer. How can I replace or fix it?

In device manager, right click either of them, click uninstall, confirm, reboot

Check device manager

No change. I uninstalled them and rebooted the computer. When Windows started up it automatically detected both drives, but they still have the same error.
