I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this topic or not, and if not I apologize.

Ever since I got my laptop I have been burning DVD's using WinDVD Creator, a program that came installed on my computer. But now whenever I try to burn a disc the program always encounters a problem about 10 or 15 minutes into the "creating movie" step of the process. Could anyone with knowledge of this program offer any solutions on how to fix this error?

I will try to provide as much information as I can about the program and the error:

WinDVD Creator version 2.0.14.400

The error reads "WinDVD has encountered a problem and needs to close"
error signature: appname: wcreator.exe. appver:2.014.400 Modname: divxdec.ax. Modver.5.0.4.822 offset: 000090b9

If no one knows how to fix the error for this program, could you provide a link to another program I can use to create DVD's.

Thanks for your help,
James

This isn't looking to good, :whistling:. I've searched up the error, and I haven't been able to find anything. What I am suggesting is that you go to: http://www.intervideo.com/jsp/Home.jsp. Then find the technical support page, either e-mail them, or see if the error is in a database to be able to be fixed. If you cannot fix the error through them (Intervideo's the maker of WinDVD Creator), you may have have to buy burning software. The reason is, I have searched up and down through google, and different websites, such as download.com, for freeware/share that would burn DVDs and CDs. All of them are basically trial versions, which expire after a certain time (such as 30 days trial).

If you're going to buy burning software, I advise Nero:
Nero 7 Ultra Edition ENHANCED

The software is a bit expensive, around $80, but in the long run its definitely worth its price. I use the software and I recommend it. It practically burns anything, DVDs, CDs, Data, you name most of anything with burning it USUALLY can do it.

Hopefully you do not have to buy anything, and can fix the technical problem through Intervideo's Support
