I have Windows XP pro and I decided to install Vista on another drive. I checked Vista out for about a week decided I would remove vista as I was not all that impressed with it. SO what I did was to just reformat the drive it was on to wipe it off the system. Well I did that just fine but now when I restart it still ask's me which operating I want to boot into even though Vista is not there any more.
So how do I make the PC realize there is only one operating system so it does not ask which one to boot from anymore?

You need to remove the redundant line referring to Vista in the BOOT.INI file.
Easiest way to do that is by using MS Configuration Editor built in to Windows.
Easy to follow guide here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/bootopt.htm

I tired that it did not work. Told me all paths appeared valid.
Windows Vista does not even show up in the BOOT.INI file??
But it's still an option when I reboot?
