i was installing ubuntu,i chose to install it on a 8 gb pen drive,but when it started formatting to swap and .ext3,it failed,now when i plug the device to windows,it detects it,but,when i try to open it,it says,please insert a disc into drive.i think wrong format has caused this havoc.even when i click FORMAT,it says,first insert a disc into the drive,i need help,plz....its urgent

What happens when you try to format it through disk management?

it says , that u should first insert a disc into the drive !
