im trying to choose between a xBox and a PS2 to run linux on
i dont know the prices for used units but they're most likely under $60 (eBay)

any way, its been proven that linux can run on both systems (even a kit you could purchase for the PS2Linux PS2 Kit!!!

The xBox has better hardware to run linux than a PS2

This just sounds like a fun "weekend project" (and a cheap internet capable computer!!!)

just wondering if I could get any help from u guys

I dont even know if i should post this on this site
(kinda irrelevant) but still would be cool.

Well i suppose its a half decent project although i wouldnt go out and buy a new console to do it its the kind of thing i would do if i had one lying around they aren't built for it. Personally i would just go down to a computer recycler and buy a PC it would be cheaper and more reliable consoles tend to have lifetimes that once they hit they are likely to not be irreparable if you use a playstation constantly for 3 or 4 years there is significantly more chance it will die in a year than it will do another 3 or 4 so you have to be very wary of used systems they probably wont last to long.

Up to you either would work fine i would maybe go for the xbox its slightly newer and uses old PC parts so itll be a better box.
