I heard that Vista would have an integrated PC anywhere client. Is this true? I cant find it or hyperterminal.

Are you talking about something to access a remote system via dial-up?

Personally, I can't even find that worth the trouble...

Vista, just as with XP has Remote Desktop integrated... works rather well for me..

I have the full version of PC anywhere and i heard that Vista would be able to connect to PC anywhere hosts with a built in client. Not the same thing as Remote desktop.

I use hyper terminal to configure some network equipment. Here is Microsoft's answer to this:

HyperTerminal is no longer part of Windows. However, you can use Telnet. It's a simple, text-based program that you can use to connect to another computer over the Internet.

If you previously used HyperTerminal to troubleshoot modem problems, use Phone and Modem Options instead:


• Open Phone and Modem Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, and then clicking Phone and Modem Options.

So i found the hyperterm.exe and the hyperterm.dll files on my XP pro machine and pasted them into the system32 folder on the vista machine. Works like a charm
