Good evening everyone. My sister has a Compact Presario SR1010NX desktop computer, with 2.70 ghz Intel Celeron Processor, and with 256 MB DDR SD Ram Memory, 40 GB Ultra DMA HD CDRW Drive 48x24x48 Mac Speed, which she bought in 2004. She went to Windows Update to update her computer, (specifically to XP2), but it didn't fully load the program, so she shut it down the only way she could (by the powr button), and then tried to restart. Now when she tries to startup, the computer just goes to the Compact screen and then the Windows screen, and then it will restart over and over again. It will not load anything, not even Safe Mode, or her last know good config. She does not have the original Windows XP disc, so we are wondering, is there any other way for her to get her computer back up and running? :whistling:

Thanks in advance for the wonderful help!

Can you get your hands on an XP installation cd of the same version (Home or Pro) that's installed on her machine?

I'm not sure...but I don't think so. She have misplaced her XP cd that came with her system, and have searched hi and lo for it...but with no results. I'm trying to help her 5 hours away, but haven't come up with any conclusions yet. This didn't happen until she went to Microsoft updates, then when asked to restart her computer...she did...and then the restart issues. She can't even get into Safe Mode w/or w/o Networking or even the Last Known Good Configuration to fix anything.

If she can borrow a XP cd (home or pro) depending on what is installed, then a "repair" can be attempted.
