Sometimes, after clicking start, shut down, (really shut down), the computer just sits silently and is able to run normally; it does not shut down. The only way to shut down is to pull the plug. When restarting, it will run normally for a few days, then it happens again. Anybody seen this? Causes? Fixes. (Computer shows clean from Ad-Aware, AntiVir and AOL's spyware.) I have waited overnight, and it still hasn't shut down. The only "solution" is to pull the plug. (Re-)start the computer, which seems to start up normally, though perhaps a bit slowly as it cleans up the wreckage, after which it often can be shut down normally -- until the next "eternal life" attempt!
