please can someone help me
i have a system that has a EP-8K7A+ motherboard, AMD XP1600+ PRO, 2x 20GB h/drives, 256MB ram,Riva TNT2 Model64 graphic card
The is the problem was running ME but wanted to upgrade to xp so tried to format 1of my h/drives using the xp disc would get to copying files then just stopped every time, so i removed the drive and put it into my other computer and done it on that one with no problems, xp is now on the drive and starts/works fine. Put it back into the other computer and all i get is a black screen, i have unplugged my second drive and made the 1 with xp on it the master, i have tried booting up in safe mode but it just hangs after files have been loaded

You cannot expect to move XP from a computer with a different hardware configuration and expect it to work.

Instead i would download the utilities for the maker of the drive you want to install XP on and wipe the drive by writing all "0"s to the drive. Set the drive as master in the computer, and set the bios to boot from the cdrom drive and then install XP to the drive in a clean install. If you still have problems you may need to download the 6 disk floppy making exe file from mocrosoft and use it to install the OS.
