I have been having some problems lately. On 2/15/05, Norton found a backdoor.sdbot virus on my system(Win 2000). Now when I run my Norton, it closes halfway through a scan and I cannot reopen unless I reboot. My system isn't the newest one on the block by any means, but I never had a problem opening any files or programs before and then one day it hit me and everything takes a much longer time to open. In my system processes I have up to 6 svchost.exe processes running at one time and some other processes that don't look familiar. I have run Ad Aware, CWShredder, Spybot S&D, Trend Housecall, TDS-3, and they are coming out clean. Ad Aware found a few low risk things that I cleared up, but no real change to my system. I get the blue screen of death and loss of my mouse and keyboard if I try starting in safe mode. Was not able to open the regedit command in Run, but now am able to, although I don't know what to do in it, if anything. Right now I am at a loss. I would greatly appreciate any help.

I forgot to add that I cannot end many of my processes or process trees. I get: This process can not be terminated. Access is denied. I am the admin. and the only user set up on the computer.
