Many of the newest games you will NOT be able to play well on this computer( AMD 2600). Any computer that you want to game with will usually need a minimum of 1 Gig of memory and really 2 Gigs is better. According to the PDF i downloaded from H-P your computer uses PC2700 memory. While your computer does have a 8X AGP slot the best you can do for a video card is a Nvidia 7800 GS or a ATI 1950 Pro , both with 512 Mb of video memory, at a cost of around $200.

While you can get by with this compute and about $400 worth of upgrades. It might be better to think about not spending the money for upgrades but instead think about buying a specific computer built to play games.

Heres what i think is a good one for a start.

From the above i would invest in a 2.4 or 2.66 processor, another Gig of memory, and a Sound Blaster Audigy sound card, for starters.

Just my opinion.

Lets say I add 512mb ram and the 200$ vid card to my pavillion?
Still not that great I know but is it doable for "Company of Heroes" etc?
That puts me at 1gig and the good agp card

That will help and you will be able to play some games. To check your FPS you should run 3D Mark of Fraps to see what you get.You are looking for 25-30 FPS but i doubt you will get that with that computer.
