I was trying to test a hard drive from another computer. Shut down my computer, disconnected the slave drive, connected the HD i wanted to test and started computer. The computer would get all the peripherals up but the monitor would not display anything and the system seemed to freeze. I turned off the power strip, disconnected the test HD and reconnected my slave. I get the same results - any help?

May not be related to the hard disks. I'm thinking you may have dislodged the graphics card when fitting the first disk? Check to see if it's firmly seated and that, if it has it's own cooling fan, the small two-pin power connector to it hasn't been pulled off.
