Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a new laptop with Windows XP on it, or does it have to have Vista installed?
I am concerned about the problems that some people seem to have with Vista, and would rather buy XP until the Vista bugs are worked out.

hehe good luck...especially with the prebuilts like dell etc...it's EXTREMELY hard to get anything without vista on it right now...some of the business systems are still showing with XP as an option...but very few and the numbers are getting smaller...you've almost got to custom order the thing....i've heard tell that if you order your PC over the phone instead of the website...that you can make the request to the sales tech that they switch the OS to xp...and they'll recalculate the price for you

Thanks for the info. I am debating if I should definitely try to get the XP and add Vista on later.

well...it's obviously cheaper to get vista now instead of paying for xp and then paying again to get vista....it's a tass up between getting it now...and accepting it for it's flaws...or not and paying more later...

basically right now there are only a few issues/flaws that i've seen happen on a regular basis (i'm not a vista expert so i could be wrong)...are related to driver issues...but with a system built for vista y ou shouldn't have those issues
