Hi,

Does anyone know how to put a BartPE CD onto an external hard drive? I work at a university repairing student's dell computer that are under warranty, and we get a lot of failed hard drives, and try to back up their data. We currently use a BartPE CD to recover the hard drives, but I'm just looking for a way for it to boot faster, and not have to put a CD in the computer every time. Thanks for the help!

http://www.911cd.net...showtopic=10806 how to do it on a thumbdrive

i've never tried installing pe to the hard drive but i've had issues with doing it from a thumbdrive...mainly because not all MOBO's support booting to USB...which quite probably could be the case with your external drive sollution as well..

for the time and headache that bartsPE (and or the ubcd4win) saves in recovering the drive...i'm usually willing to sacrafice a minute or two for it to boot from cd...
