I have a Sony Vaio Notebook (its less than 3 weeks old) and I'm running Vista Business. I was working in an excel file and it froze up. For some reason now it will not even boot Vista. I can't log through safe mode either. I have went into the boot menu and actually chose to boot from the hardisk and it starts then all I get is a black screen and nothing happens. I have actually tried launching the Startup Repair and I will get the Blue Screen that says I have installed something and I need to remove it. The thing is I haven't installed anything this is a brand new notebook. I was wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem and if so what I can do to resolve it. I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

Alright so I was able to do a startup repair and that worked it asked me to resrote it to a previously good boot. I did that and when I was able to get to my desktop I tried doing a to update a couple things on Norton and then it froze up again and is now doing the same thing it was before. Does anyone know what might be causing this to happen?
