[Faiz]

Hello Geekstogo.com and thanks for reading this. My PC loads very slowly before bringing up the desktop wallpaper but nothing else. I can manually start commands but I cannot run Explorer as it says it is missing. I've done everything suggested by the website, ie. run a virus and antispyware scan, but I still get a blank desktop.

Lets try this to begin with

You may need your XP disk for this.

Click new task, then type:

sfc /scannow

Note the space between c and /

Click OK.

It'll scan through, and it should find explorer.exe missing and prompt you for the CD to replace the file. Let me know how this goes..

See if explorer.exe is in that folder.

Also, do you have an xp disk?

Copy and paste the following lines one at a time and click ok after each one

dir \explorer.exe /a h /s > look.txt {press enter}

start look.txt {press enter}


Notepad should open, please paste the information for me to see

I've just done a system recovery, had to install everything again. But everything is ok now.
