hello, i know speed fan can control the speed of fans. does this only work on certian boards? or certain fans? i decided to install it on my pc again, and i cant control any fan(couldnt before) but upon loading i had a tip, it said the chip IT9712f has been improved, told me to go to config, advance and it gives me info or nothing i know about.

well my main question is the first 3 sentences.

Yes, there are certain motherboards that speedfan will not read correctly or even read at all. I have a intel 845 pemy MB that speedfan wont't read at all. While a intel 815 chipset MB speedfan reads well and i can control the fans. My athlon 2400 with a Nforce2 Biostar M7NCD pro speedfan reads well also. So it seems that speedfan does not work well on some MB's. It might be easier to buy a cdrom slot adjustable fan controller kit.
