At least once a day I receive a ZoneAlarm warning that reads:
Self-Extracting Cabinet is trying to launch
C:BDD12A79A2DBB1603201A20\mpsigstub.exe
I deny letting this file open. Later the warning message appears again but with a different string of numbers. The file name is the same. What is this file mpsigstub.exe? If it is safe, how can I allow it next time if the number string changes daily? ZoneAlarm will see this as a new file and repeat the warning, which must be acknowledged. (I read somewhere that this might be signatures for Windows Defender.)

Hello jimhaynes and welcome to the G2G HijackThis forum. Go ahead and allow it. It is indeed part of a Microsoft update for Windows Defender.

Cheers.
