:tazz: I have just recently updated from windows xp home to xp pro...It has come to my attention that my graphics are all all messed up (or not there). I went to run-dxdiag-and then when I checked the display under the directx diagnostic tool. Under device there is nothing....it has no name, manufacturer, etc. I was just wondering how I can fix this problem. I just didn't feel like paying $50 to compaq to tell me over the phone. Hope to hear from someone soon.

Install Everest, double click desktop icon then click + next to dispaly then windows video, see what the graphics are, if they are onboard then you should have the drivers on the motherboard disc, if another type then you should get the drivers from the card manufacturers site

If you click + next to computer then summary does it give anything for video adapter, it should still show the card even if the drivers are not installed

Did you get installation discs for the software

Video Adapter S3 ProSavageDDR (86c420)
3D Accelerator S3 SuperSavageDDR

Why aren't they showing up in the directx diag tool box?
Are they installed?

In sections with the drop down arrow choose XP drivers and you may need the drivers for the adapter and accelerator

Savage News Drivers

The card is Via Tech but their site is working as well as your card is
