Backspace is slow.

I use AOL as my server. I have a Dell XPS M1210 laptop with Windows XP Media Version 2002, Service Pack 2. I bought the laptop from Dell in December, 2006.

When I have typed emails and documents both online and offline in the past and used the backspace key. it has worked very fast. But this morning, when I used the backspace key in emails and documents both online and offline, the backspace works a lot slower than before. Thanks for your help.
