I don't know what else to do. I have run virus scans, sypbot, lavasoft and even Microsoft antispyware. Had to do a complete reinstall last week and now the computer is acting very stange again. HELP please!! Here is the HyjackThis log. Any help will be greatly appreciated. (and thanks before hand)

As for your question, several weeks ago I upgraded my processor from an old AMD thunderbird 1.2 to the AMD athlon 3000+ (all my mobo would work with) and upgraded my ram to 2 gig PC3200 DDR. The puter runs good part of the time but seemed to freeze up especially when using Outlook 2003 more than any other time. The xp pro version is oem and not on the totally on the legal side, so I have a new XP Pro retail to install, if I can figure out how to install it without loosing all my other data and programs. Basically, trying to find out what is going on. I have ran lavasoft, spybot, Microsoft AnitSpyware and haven't found anything major. Been running Norton antivirus on a regular basis. Haven't found any virus lately.

hi again! I am not seeing anything obvious that would cause these problems you are describing. Let me ask around with some of the more Advanced Experts, and have them take a look at the explanation so we can come up with an answer. I will post back by tomorrow afternoon!

We aren't able to help you any further at this time, due to a contract we have with Microsoft. Once you have installed the legal copy of XP, I would be glad to try and help you.

Hi again! I appreciate your honesty! So many people are not these days!

Your HJT log *IS* in fact clean. I talked with a few of the Experts, and the recommendation is this:

Disable ALL of the Symantec Protection Suite EXCEPT the Anti Virus part. The rest of the things bundled in the Suite are actually not as necessary, and can seriously slow your system down.

Run the system for a day or two with all of that disabled, and then let us know if you're still having problems now!
