Hi all,
after posting about my artifacts problem and gettng no reply ive decided to purchase a new graphics card
unfortunetly im stuck with AGP so prices are so much more expensive

ive been searching around and have stumbled upon an
XFX 7600GT AGP 8X 256Mb 128-Bit 580/1500 Mhz grahics card

will this be a decent enough card to last me until a new build?? would it be able to run vista well enough??

and currently i have a coolermaster 380Watt power suply that can only provide 16A on the +12V rail will the card run until i can buy a better stronger power supply??? i realise it wont be playing games with good frames per second until i upgrade but will it do for another 2-4 weeks after the purchase???

if u want to no the reason why im upgrading see here:

Oh and by the way its gotten worse!!!

thankyou for your help,
Troppo

I have a 7600GT PCI-E and it's an excellent budget card. Newest games will play on high / medium. AGP has half the bandwidth, though don't take that as half the performance, it's not. Your card will run even before you upgrade the PSU, but once the PSU is upgraded you may see a small performance increase if the previous PSU was struggling...

Dont most PCI-E cards run at 8X anyway???

only the newer DX 10 cards utilise the full 16X bandwidth??? thats what i heard anyway.

is there mush differnce between the XFX 7600GT xXx edition??? its more expensive for a slightly higher clock speed?

is it worth it? or should i just overclcok the card to the xXx editon speeds?

thanks for your input,
troppo
