I have upgraded to a new computer and have got Office Standard Edition on it. Occasionally I want to use Publisher but obviously haven't got it now. Is there another DTP program that is compatible with Publisher files?

'Fraid not leahall. Microsoft has so far not played ball with other software developers as far as the MS Publisher format is concerned. Microsoft itself doesn't even offer a free viewer for 'pub' files like it does for Word and Powerpoint. They have always kept the 'pub' format very much to themselves, refusing to licence the use of it to third-parties except perhaps to other equally expensive offerings from Corel and Adobe. In which case you'd be better spending the money on the real thing.
