I hope someone can give me some advice. Can I install an internal wifi card on my sony? How difficult is it to do? I don't want to buy one on Ebay if it won't work. Thanks!

Your Sony R505 should have a slot on the left side covered by a flap, next to the memory-stick slot. This will accept a PCMCIA card bus wireless card, often referred to simply as a Wireless PC card. But it's not internal as you refer to it. You can't fit an internal one into any laptop, it has to be fitted during manufacture. What you need is an external wireless PC card as described earlier, which fits into that slot.

Thanks for the reply. I am currently using an external card. My friends with built in internal wifi seem to get beter reception. Thanks, I didn't want to waste money.
