Hi

I bought a 1GB DDR SDRAM PC2700 to put into my pc. I checked what ram was already in my pc to get the same one but higher memory using AIDA32 software. The ram came and I inserted it into one of the slots and removed the old ram stick I turned the power on the pc but the monitor did not switch on, so I put the old ram in and switched the pc on the monitor came on but the screen just before the windows xp loading screen came up the pc restarts. I took out the new ram and pc works as usuall. Is there any clue to what the problem is.

The Ram I Bought - http://cgi.ebay.co.u...e...p;rd=1&rd=1

Picture Attached of AIDA32 software showing the ram being used on my pc.

Thank You

Are you exceeding the maximum amount of ram that your motherboard can handle?

Did the same myself. You got high Density. Your computer uses low density. We'd need your Mobo specs to be sure.... but 90% sure of it.
