Okay...this is crazy as [bleep] and im getting frustrated. Everytime I try to convert a AVI file to VCD or SVCD format like halfway through the converstion my computer just shut down. I dont have the SLIGHTEST idea of why its doing this. I done bought a 50 pack of cd-r's to burn alot of dvds..just to find out i cant even do that!! Somebody let me know if you know what the issue is and how it can be solved. this will be lovely :whistling:

If you do not mind please post the specs of your computer.
Processor, RAM, OS and service pack installed, the make and model, and how old the computer is.
My first thoughts are heat related. Video taxes you computer. If you processor's heatsink is dirty or a fan has stopped working you could have a processor overheating. Like wise your RAM could bad, just one or all RAM modules.
If you go to the Event Viewer in the Administrative Tools there may be an error message that could shed some light on the problem.
The Administrative Tools are in the [b]Control Panel.
