Had this problem for quite a few months now. Have an Acer Travelmate Laptop 4650 and it seems to just shut itself off every now and again. When I turn it back on i get this blue screen and says my disk needs to be checked for consistency.. Anyone any ideas on how I can rectify this or even point me in the right direction?? Sorry its a bit vague... The next time it happens I will post the full details..

when you get into windows click the start button, then run, then type chkdsk /f /r, it will probably tell you it needs to reshcedule the chkdsk on the next reboot because the disk is in use...tell it yes...and restart your computer...once the system loads back up you'll see the disk checker start to work...let that run uninterupted untill it's done (probably 45 min or so depending on drive size)...report back any errors
