If you do not have to enter a password

Click start, control panel, user accounts, then user accounts again, change the way users log on and off

Apply any changes

Otherwise you may have .net framwork 1.1 without the service patch and hotfix

start/control panel/user accounts/change the way users log on or off/check the box for "use the welcome screen"/apply options

Easier, Click start/run/ type CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 and
hit <enter>. Click on your user account in the list. Uncheck the box to
require a username and password, then click apply/ok and follow the prompts
to create the automatic logon.
