Ports missing from Device Manager in WIN2K

My USB printer suddenly stopped working. When I started troubleshooting I found that there is not even a Ports LISTING in Device Manager (WIN 2K). If anyone can tell me what happened and how to fix the problem, it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Hello DelamaterR and welcome to GTG

Here are some possible problems with your computer.

One your Mainboard is bad if it is integrated USB.

OR

It could simply be a driver issue.

When you plug a USB device in does it show indication of power on the device powered from the USB a lot of USB drives will have a light that will come on.
