Hello all,

I'm a newbie here. But I am in dire straits, and was scanning the internet for assistance. I have been infected with the W32 SillyWorm Virus, and my entire computer's fonts look like programming characters. Almost impossible for a novice to read. It even affects my typing as we speak causing the enter button to malfuntion or letters to type when they shouldnt be. I've run Registry Mechanic, Xbot, F=PROT, and Trend Micro Housecall is running as we speak. How can I remove this thing embedded in 3 Files but is not being removed?

My backup drive has also been damaged. So this thing is really annoying. I cant read anything off my C Drive or Backup. This is unreal people make stuff like this. I'm not a computer Einstein so take it easy on me guys.

Thanks For all help if given.

The drama continues. I've tried 6 times today to install AVG Anti-Virus 7.5, while downloading is fine, installing is a forget about it. Whatever this virus is doing, it won't allow that program to install. F-PROT installed, but AVG will not. F-PROT found the actual virus, in the documents/Settings blah say blah say folder, which is a hidden folder, but trying to remove it or disinfect it, this program won't do.

I'm still not sure if this is the root of my computer fonts on my hard drive looking like hieroglyphics, but I do know that this same virus was found 3 times in the same folder. Sheesh!!

Not being pesky, just updating you guys on what's going on so you can maybe pinpoint EXACTLY what it is and what to do.

McAfee has found that this thing is called the W32/Alcan.worm/p2p!!! 3 Files worth of it. It has quarantined it off but I need to get it removed out of the system Registry to get my English letters back. Because within the McAfee itself I cannot read the actual worm file, only what McAfee says it is. Within my Registry, i literally have to manually decipher the encryptions. Aaarrgghhhhh
