Nero/DVD-RW drive problem

Hi, I've had a problem for a while now where burned DVD's are not read by my DVD-RW drive, now it does read regular DVD's but not a blank DVD that I have burned onto. Now this problem seems to have coincided with my updating Nero to a later version (As the last time this happened, I merely updated the Nero software and the problem was sorted) but the version I had updated from has stopped reading or burning properly as well. I've installed an earlier version but I've had no luck, it continues to not read my burned disks. Is there another version I should try or another application altogether, etc?

I would be more more inclined to suspect the DVD drive rather than the burning application, or at least consider it as a possibility. Swapping it out with another known working is a good starting point.
