Dialog tellies internet connection have disapeared

The little tellies that used to flash when you are connected to the internet have diappeared any ideas how to get them back again. Windows 2000 Pro Speedtouch broadband modem. Any ideas??

Click on Network Connections in Control Panel. Right click on your connection then click Properties. Check the box Show icon ... when connected.
