Computer restarts out of nowhere

I currently have windows XP and lately out of nowhere the computer will restart itself. As of today now when I will click to open a program my monitor will turn black then the screen will turn into the huge font and then a few minutes later turn black again and then go really small. also, it will sometimes crash out of nowhere and it will look like windows 95 realy square and gray all my pictures, songs, etc is there but my printer and internet connection is gone! please help!
