Steam problems! Plz help!

Steam isn't starting up, when i first click on it nothing happens, so i click crt alt delete and then end process and try it again, this takes for every and is getting worse, it use to be where after 17,000 mem usage it would start up now it takes it to get to at least 18,000. I don't know what to do, i have tried to un and re install steam and still nothing.

When steam does open and it says connecting ect...nothing happens, the little steam thing pops up in the corner and then all it says is exit, no servers, games. Some help would be much appreciated.
