My Sister-in-Law's Sister has just bought a Time computer for the kids and had it all set up by her Brother-in-Law. However, they are experiencing problems by the monitor displaying a 'No Signal' message and then the tower switches off and the monitor light flashes on and off.

She tells me a guy at Time support said they must keep hitting the delete key when this happens and when the blue screen appears put the machine to default mode.

They are complete novices as far as computers go, so if anyone else has had this problem please let me know, as it would be a lot easier for me than trying to understand from them!!!!!

Allright I have a few questions.

Does the "No signal" message appear at start-up? Or at a random time when you're on the computer.

What does the screen look like when the message appears? Does the background turn black, is it a pop-up notice from the bottom of the screen, is it a blue screen?



The only thing I can think of now is that you don't have the tower (computer) switched on. Although it seems too obvious to be the solution. I have a Dell Dimention desktop computer in my house, and if you only turn the main power switch on, a message comes up saying something related to "no signal" untill you turn the computer or "tower" on.
