Lost XP CD

Hello
I have XP Pro, and i've lost my cd.
Is there anyway i can boot the PC like i do with the CD to format the hard drive?

I would contact the manufacturer of your computer and see if there is a replacement CD that you can order from them. If you bought the CD from the store, aka a retail copy, then the only thing you can do is contact Microsoft and see if they can send you out a replacement CD. I doubt they will, but it's worth a shot, because one never knows when it comes to what Microsoft will do. :whistling:

what it is, is a company gets faulty computers, and extacts the operating system, that hasn't been activated or anything, and he said, that if i install it, i won't need to put a product key in because it thinks i'm installing it on a fresh dell computer. and it gives me a product key once it installs

That is illegal and not something we support. That CD key is for ONLY the computer that it was meant for. I am closing this topic now.
