I have Norton

I repeated get a message

Warning virus detected

Object name C:/Windows/atlass.dll
Virus name Trojan StartPage 4/F
Action Taken File deleted

I hit Ok but the same message repeated comes up
It happens with my modem to the cable connected and unconnected

I ran Xoftspy ( which I downloaded to try and cure the problem )
It cleaned out a bunch od adware etc but the problem remains

When I shut Norton down the message goes away

BUT

My mouse arrow repeated shows the hourglass flickering just to the right like something is being done even when I have a blank desktop and I can hear the hard drive clicking

malware problem -- you shold post in the malware forum

Some viruses are extrememly difficult to remove.

I had one yesterday that was a lot of fun....the trojan could not be deleted because it was running, i couldn't stop it from running because it was running instances of the calcuator and packager in the background, either off screen or in a hidden window, as a process watcher....

Close trojan, it restarts, close calc. it restarts, close packager, it restarts....

Chuckle.

My kung fu was more powerful :tazz:
