windows xp media speed issues

Hi there,

my laptop is very slow connecting to webpages...programs seem to be fine...just the internet connection is dog slow!!!!

i have a toshiba satellite pro laptop with windows xp media...it has an intel duo processor and 2 gigs of memory.....it is set up to my wireless network in my home using the built in wireless card (802.1a/b/g wireless)and i have a dsl connection.....i also am using IE7.....sometimes i feel i have to "prod" it to move by refreshing etc....

my desktop(using now) works fine and is very fast connecting to websites etc......

is there maybe a setting issue????

please help!! as my laptop is my unit of chioce

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
