Okay, the situation is this: My burner has been a little odd for awhile, basically not liking to burn big things at all. Which, for a DVD burner, is kinda lame.

In the past few days it's been alright, it's been burning full DVD ISOs and all and has made me happy. Now however, it's refusing to burn any ISOs...and I really would like to clean up my drive of them. ^-^;

No matter what burner I use[Nero, DiscJuggler, UltraISO] it just seems to use all the buffer...then not burn. Makes the DVD spin quite fine in the drive, I can hear it. It doesn't burn though.

It's a Samsung Writemaster DVD/R/RW CD combo burner drive. TS-H552U. ...it uses a Microsoft driver 'cause Samsung doesn't make one. >.> They DO however have a firmware update, but that didn't make any difference. They have a tool that enables the user to have the drive on High Speed or Quiet modes, doesn't matter.

...this is very frustrating. If anyone could help, I'd be very grateful.

According to several Cnet reviews, this is a common problem.

My advice? Trash it, and buy something better.

Eheh...I kinda figured. But don't have cash to just throw around, 'sides, it's been working pretty well for at least a coupla years...something should be able to fix it, surely.

If not...I guess I will just have to upgrade somehow, [bleep].
