pop-up problem

ok... i get alot of pop-ups when im not even exploring... lets say i play a game and all the sudden the game minimizes and some stupid popup comes up... i didnt really care at first but now its getting really annoying

i have : Lavasoft Ad Aware Personal
SpywareBlaster

i tried other software but nothing worked... im not sure if i need a HijackThis log for this but anyway here goes:

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
