video clips from mobile to desktop

I have loads of clips on my sony ericsson K800i . Once I have copied them to my desktop ,I then do not know how to improve them. I.E. with pics i can ajust contrast , etc. Is there a free prog that can help clear up my vid clips..?????
And what format should they be in to view better.
I use Gom player for viewing.
