I've got some problem on my machine, and its started to affect windows.

I ran Smitfraudfix in safe mode, AVG in safe mode, adaware in safe mode, and prevx in normal mode (wouldn't start in safe mode for some reason), and its got rid of some files - but I still seem to have some sort of problem. There seems to have been something to do with the CMD.EXE process as I have multiple processes of this, and when I go to shut down it has trouble shutting some of them down.

First of all I keep getting a windows error message called "Windows - No Disk" with the following text "Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 7cc31d6c 7cc31d6c 7cc31d6c 7cc31d6c". I am unsure whether this is a real error message or not.

EDIT: When I ask this to try again, the floppy drive starts trying to find something, unsure what this means.

I thought it might be to do with a particular program so I went to uninstall it, but the add/remove programs feature won't work also. Any help would be much appreciated.

OK

I've managed to track this down to something thats both asking me to insert a floppy (maybe changed a startup programs settings as it doesn't do it in safe mode), and also won't let me access msconfig.

I reinstalled internet explorer and windows media player (which wouldn't work properly) and now I can use them. It also sorted out my add/remove programs fault bizarrely.

However, I still can't get rid of whatever it is thats stopping me from accessing config. And unless I can access config, I can't remove this program from startup.

Please Help?!

Solved (I think)

winupdate32.exe was the malware, starting itself in the startup menu. I deleted it at regedit.

Error messages have now stopped.
