I have Windows XP on one hard drive and Windows Vista on another hard drive. When I start up my computer I get the option to Use an earlier version of windows or Vista. Both Start up and work great. But when I'm using Vista I can't really access anything from the XP drive.

How can I use my XP Programs & Settings from one drive on the new drive running Vista?

Hi cashandbro...

You can't.

It sounds like you have set up a dual boot configuration. This will let you run one operating system or the other, but any programs you wish to run must be installed to the registry on the operating system it will be used with.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping I would be able to since some programs did work. Do I need to uninstall Vista on the D: drive If I plan on upgrading the C: XP drive to Vista?

Not necessarily. You could have two Vista installs, the one on your D drive and the XP upgrade. Your choice.
