How many times have you run the Defrag program? Did you shut down as many running programs as possible?

I agree with cmw2010, to the fact how many times did you defrag? Also-what makes you think there always is fragmented file, if you ran it more then 2x then there would be nothing to move...Also-the same selection (System Tools),do "Disk Cleanup" Before you do Defrag

I ran Widnows Defrag more than 5 times, and PowerDefrag once. I also did the Disc Cleanup before each defrag, no luck. I ran MSCONFIG, and set it up so that no programs other than Windows System programs were running.

try using jkdefrag, it's in my signature
