A relative on Dial-up can't update AVG, he gets "Could not find default Dial-up connection". Even though he is on line!! and can update XP and Defender etc
His AVG version is 7.5
Any help will be appreciated

Somewhere in AVG is an option to turn off the choice of dial-up connection to use.
Do that and the program won't care how it gets online.

Hello Neil
Many thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately I am quite a distance from my relative so I am not able to investigate his problem directly.
Could you be a bit more specific where to look etc. as I do not use AVG myself.
Regards

AVG has also had issues with their update servers. You may have to just keep trying, or try another time of day when they may not be so busy.

Many thanks to all for the suggestions to date. It may be some time before my next visit to my relative, but will update the post at that time.
