Hi! There are many files on my laptop in which I do not use, such as: Dell games and things similar to that. Should I remove those programs? I don't know which ones are safe to remove. Also, I am not sure if there is any virus on my computer as nothing showed up. When I tried to run they spyware program in safe mode, it would not let me. I think it said it wasn't connected to server. It said to reinstall it, and I did. It still did not work. I ran the program in normal mode and nothing showed up.

I did another Hijack log, because I had a BIOS update and I had to reinstall my antivirus today. Last week, AT&T had problems with their port, so they were over here messing with my laptop all day. They called in one man who has been fired years ago for setting up computers to fail so he could get called back and make money. Anyway, the ATT man said that was his last resort to get my computer working. Normally, if you go through this man, he does not include the disks to any programs on your computer. We did not buy this laptop from him, but directly from Dell. It came with everything. For some odd reason this morning, my antivirus would not load. I uninstalled and reinstalled it. It is fine now. I checked run... on my computer, and it showed the man got into command prompt and msconfig. I just want to be safe and make sure everything is okay now. Also, I want to know what is not necessary on start up so I can have the computer up faster. Here is the new log:

I did another Hijack log, because I had a BIOS update and I had to reinstall my antivirus today. Last week, AT&T had problems with their port, so they were over here messing with my laptop all day. They called in one man who has been fired years ago for setting up computers to fail so he could get called back and make money. Anyway, the ATT man said that was his last resort to get my computer working. Normally, if you go through this man, he does not include the disks to any programs on your computer. We did not buy this laptop from him, but directly from Dell. It came with everything. For some odd reason this morning, my antivirus would not load. I uninstalled and reinstalled it. It is fine now. I checked run... on my computer, and it showed the man got into command prompt and msconfig. I just want to be safe and make sure everything is okay now. Also, I want to know what is not necessary on start up so I can have the computer up faster. Here is the new log:

To create the uninstall list:
Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

• Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
• This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
• Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
• Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
• Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
• Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
• When the scan has finished, in the menu, click file and choose save report list
• Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
• Close Dr.Web Cureit.

This will help us see what programs are running, and if there is anything malware related hiding in there.
