Hey, I'm new, so my question might be a newb question. :whistling:

I have a Dell Latitude D820 with Intel Centrino Duo 2GHz processor, 80GB harddrive, 2GM RAM with both XP and Kubuntu Feisty installed on it. I'm trying to get my Samsung external monitor working with Feisty, but it's not happening. I have tried adding to xorg.conf a second Device section, Monitor section, Screen section, and ServerLayout section, but no joy.

Here's what does happen:
I hit F8 once: the external monitor shows small gray dialog box saying Not Optimal Mode (meaning 1680x1050, 60Hz)
I hit F8 again: it seems to be in clone mode (which I guess I want) but external monitor looks like wrong resolution and also wrong refresh rate

Here's my xorg.conf file:

Does anyone have any advice on how to make this work?

Thanks very much for any suggestions!
