Hi all

First up, I have followed the steps in the stickied thread

My OS is Vista Ultimate. A few days ago I noticed an iexplore.exe process running continuously, which is strange as I never use IE7 (I use FF).

I killed it and straight away it respawned. So then I used Process Explorer and noticed something called server.exe (in C:\windows\system32\Bifrost) which was appearing to respawn iexplore.exe.

I've scanned with AVG Anti-spyware (it only found server.exe, but as soon as I ran IE7 this file was recreated). Also scanned with Vundofix (found nothing), NOD32 (found nothing), Counterspy (found nothing), Trend Housecall (found nothing) and Super Antispyware (only found a few cookies).

This appears to be an ActiveX component of some sort but I can't find it to remove it. I have replaced the server.exe file with a dummy file, so there is no iexplore process running now, but I think there may still be a DLL causing problems somewhere, as IE7 refuses to run in protected mode, even though I have tried resetting its security settings, and also reset all settings (Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset ).

I'm a techie myself so have trawled through the registry and this HJT log but can't see anything dodgy, so would appreciate any expert views as to whether you think any more malware is still hiding somewhere? Many thanks.
