Help !

When I start my computer this error msg pops up

svchost.exe - application error.

The instruction at " 0x77df1473" referenced memory at "0x77df1473". The memory could not be " written".

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

if i click on one of them, my sound stops working
and it would say there is no sound device installed etc.

but if i don't click ok or cancel, the computer still works.
but my XP interface is gone
its in classic mode, but
when i right click properties on desktop
it says its in windows xp ( modified ).

what do i do !?

this happened one day
after it was on hibernate .
i turned it back on and this
error message was there.

please help !!
i want my computer back to normal =[

Would you be able to try Majed's instructions here? If that doesn't work, do you have a System Restore point from before this happened?
